Ghosts and Ghettos
Is a gallery, by definition, made up of a series of exclusions? The word ‘ghetto’ does come to mind, but that is surely too brazen a metaphor. Especially when one is embarking on conceptualising an arts month! Yet, queerness is so hyper-aware of being relegated to ghettos, real or metaphorical, that queer arts practitioners cannot but help be troubled by this question.

Kolkata- Reclaiming the voice of the city...
A splintered city where people take to the streets in righteous anger demanding justice while at the same time numerous instances of violence and hate directed at LGBTQIA+ individuals don’t even make news. Queerness has never had a healthy relationship with oppressive binaries and it is this very realisation that foregrounds what we wish to do with Ko:QAM 2.0 this time.
.
.
Through a series of conversations, displays, workshops and presentations, the sophomore edition of Ko:QAM will try to search for answers to some these aforementioned questions. Instead of a specific curator, this time we will have a series of interlocutors/presenters who will bring their own unique perspectives to the table
.
.
KOQAM is organised by kolkatapride.org (@kolkata.pride) and is supported by Keshav Suri Foundation (@keshavsurifoundation) (Principal Partner), Experimenter (@experimenterkol) (Gallery Partner), Kolkata Centre for Creativity (@kccinkolkata) (Institution Partner) and Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata (@thelalitkolkata) (Hospitality Partner)

Looking forward to you joining us.
